Broken Love

By: Brigette Martil

On this night with no moon,

Shrouded by sadness is this maiden,

Tears speckled down her throat,

Her heart is consumed by fire,

A face so wasted as thee,

Sent the gentle sleep from Heaven,

Flicker like an eagle’s claw,

Sorrow lies on her back like a haunted
soul,

The clock ticks and death draws near,

There is no way to meet him,

Her breast pounds,

As her lover meets his end.

ART is my EVERYTHING.

lulz… I lied about the title… :P Not really everything, but it’s a huge part in my life. My mom’s a really creative person, so I learn stuffs from her and she introduced the world of art to me.

Started drawing at 2nd year high, I’ve drawn many things (mostly anime), but I can’t really say they were all that. I can’t even draw good without something to look at.
Then I stopped for a year or two. Life’s catching up and I was pretty busy doing nonsense and school.

I’m currently on the fields of literature (journalism and poetry), just something to keep me busy during my college years. I’m one of the junior staffs in our school paper in BSU (Collegianer). I must say, being bored and even without the slightest feeling of being inspired, your articles and poems become CRAP. I mean it, I’m horrible at that.

So, on with the topic. I’m reading this art book for a few days now. Well, only skimming/scanning. It’s a book entitled "A Woman on Paper: Georgia O’Keeffe", if she’s familiar to you, then maybe we could chat about it =P. She’s a famous artist in the US and her paintings are gorgeous. I found this book at an antique shop in the city, luckily, it was only for P50. It’s about Georgia and her friend Anita Pollitzer exchanging letters and stuff. Their friendship started when Anita sent letters to Georgia.

Georgia O’Keeffe is one of my inspirations in the world of art. Her paintings show vivacity and are overflowing with emotions. The pages are black and white but the paintings really stand out.

Some afternoon a few days ago, I just had the motivation to start Charcoal painting, since it’s one of Georgia’s style of painting. My first time ain’t that good, but the shadows made by the charcoal were nice. I even posted 4 of my drawings in my room. I’m thinking of doing oil painting if I get the materials and money in the future, hopefully, not in the so distant future.

I’m amazed about the creativity and pure awesomeness of art and I’m gonna  discover different styles soon, if I get some inspiration…hehe…

Thanks for reading~ and please leave a comment.
